This review is for BOTH the Disney Karaoke Series; Children’s Favorite Songs and the Christmas Favorites CD’s:
The disc is in CD-G format which means that in addition to playing music, it also gives you the graphics on the screen — providing you have your karaoke machine hooked up to a TV or monitor.
The songs are pretty good and having the exact same song with and without vocals is a plus. It’s nice to sing along with the vocal tack or have the option of no vocal track at all. The way the disc is set up, tracks 1-10 are with vocals and tracks 11-20 are the same songs without the vocal track.
The video images, however, have little to be desired. The graphics appear to be equal to the quality of the Atari 2600 graphics, for those of you old enough to remember. I would think that in this day and age, the graphics would have been much more elaborate. Perhaps the space requirements on the CD limits the amount of technology that can be used. I don’t know. Since our three year old does most of the singing and can’t read yet, the lack luster graphics don’t seem to bother him at all.
